Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

In this position, you will serve as a core Middle Office function supporting aluminum trading activities, responsible for ensuring accurate risk monitoring, P&L validation, and operational control. You will work independently from the Front Office to maintain strong governance, transparency, and integrity across trading operations while contributing to effective decision-making through analysis and reporting.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Execute daily Middle Office operations, including trade validation, settlement processing, market data updates, and position monitoring

  • Review team outputs, provide guidance, and manage task allocation and workflow

  • Monitor and analyze trading positions, market movements, and risk exposures

  • Perform independent validation of P&L and investigate discrepancies

  • Conduct P&L attribution and risk analysis to identify key performance drivers

  • Identify emerging risks and provide analytical feedback to Front Office

  • Escalate unusual exposures, limit breaches, or risk concerns in a timely manner

  • Prepare and deliver periodic management reports on P&L, risk exposure, and KPIs

  • Provide clear commentary and actionable insights to support decision-making

  • Support ad-hoc analysis and reporting requests

  • Maintain and enhance internal control frameworks and support audit processes

  • Monitor compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements

  • Drive process improvements and workflow optimization across functions

  • Promote system enhancements (e.g., CTRM/BI tools) to improve efficiency and transparency

  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders (Front Office, Logistics, Back Office, and corporate functions)

  • Support issue resolution and respond to inquiries from stakeholders

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, or a related field

  • 5+ years of experience in Middle Office, Product Control, or Risk Management within commodity trading, metals, or financial markets

  • Strong understanding of trading lifecycle including physical and derivative transactions

  • Solid analytical skills with ability to validate and explain P&L and risk exposures

  • Experience reviewing work and guiding team members

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

 

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience in metals or aluminum trading

  • Exposure to credit risk management

  • Familiarity with CTRM/ETRM systems and BI tools

  • Knowledge of internal controls, audit, and compliance
