Job Description
Location: Suwon, South Korea (Frequent travel required)
A global industrial equipment company is seeking a Senior Field Service Engineer to support customers within Korea.
The role involves installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical support for SMT / reflow systems at customer sites.
Key Responsibilities
Install, commission, and maintain industrial equipment (SMT / reflow systems) at customer sites
Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance
Diagnose technical issues and provide effective system-level solutions
Deliver on-site training to customers on equipment operation and maintenance
Maintain strong relationships with customers and ensure high service quality
Manage customer expectations by communicating service activities and follow-up plans
Prepare and submit field service reports, technical documentation, and regular updates
Maintain spare parts, tools, and service inventory
Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety regulations, and company policies
Support the sales team by identifying service contract opportunities and customer needs
Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in the SMT industry
Experience in installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of industrial equipment (preferably SMT / reflow systems)
Experience in semiconductor or machinery-related industries is a strong plus
Ability to perform system-level diagnostics and troubleshooting
Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in:
Mechanical Engineering
Electrical Engineering
or related technical field
Equivalent hands-on experience may be considered
Skills & Qualifications
Strong technical understanding of equipment systems (PLC, HMI, MES preferred)
Good communication skills with strong customer orientation
Analytical problem-solving mindset and ability to work independently
Good command of English (reading, writing, speaking)
Electrical/maintenance-related certifications (e.g., Electrician License in Korea) preferred
