Role Purpose
The role is responsible for supporting casting shop operations by driving process development, ensuring production stability, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives. The position plays a key role in automation, machine installation, process optimization, and project execution within die-casting operations. It also involves risk assessment, layout planning, and adherence to quality, safety, and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and optimize casting processes, including HPDC (High Pressure Die Casting) and LPDC (Low Pressure Die Casting).
Lead new product development (NPD) activities, including process validation and trial execution.
Execute and manage automation projects such as spray robots, part extraction systems, conveyors, and auxiliary equipment.
Perform robot programming (teaching), cycle time optimization, troubleshooting, and ensure synchronization with casting machines.
Prepare and maintain process documentation including SOPs, process sheets, control plans, commissioning reports, and other technical records.
Conduct process risk assessments (PFMEA) and implement mitigation actions.
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards across casting operations.
Support production teams in achieving targets through process improvements and root cause analysis.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives for productivity, quality, and cost optimization.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams for project planning, execution, and layout design.
Required Knowledge & Skills
Strong understanding of HPDC & LPDC casting processes
Expertise in process development, validation, and optimization
Hands-on experience with industrial automation and robotics
Knowledge of PLC/HMI systems and troubleshooting
Proficiency in robot teaching and system integration
Experience in process risk assessment (PFMEA)
Skills in plant layout planning and project execution
Working knowledge of CAD/AutoCAD
Proficient in MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
