JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and optimize heat treatment processes (annealing, quenching, tempering, carburizing, nitriding) to meet product specifications and quality standards.
Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, production, and quality teams to implement new technologies and validate processes through trials and metallurgical analysis.
Establish and control process parameters, including documentation of process flow, control plans, and work instructions.
Create and standardize operating instructions for furnace operations, material handling, quenching, and cooling to ensure consistency and repeatability.
Lead PFMEA activities to identify process risks, implement mitigation actions, and continuously update risk assessments based on feedback and audits.
Ensure safety and regulatory compliance by enforcing protocols, conducting audits, and training personnel in safe heat treatment practices.
Oversee equipment maintenance and reliability, including preventive/predictive maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair coordination.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process efficiency, product quality, equipment uptime, and operational excellence.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
Strong knowledge of heat treatment processes and metallurgical principles.
Experience with PFMEA, process control, and quality management systems.
Familiarity with safety standards (OSHA, ISO, etc.) and environmental regulations.
Hands-on experience with furnace operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
