The Project Manager / IT Application Manager is responsible for the planning, delivery, governance, and ongoing support of business-critical applications across the Japan market, including Inventory Management Systems, Point-of-Sale (POS) platforms, and B2B/B2C commerce solutions.
This role serves as a key liaison between business stakeholders, global IT teams, application support functions, infrastructure teams, and external vendors to ensure the delivery of reliable, scalable, and secure retail technology solutions. The position also drives continuous improvement initiatives and supports the organization's digital transformation strategy.
Top 5 Key Responsibilities
1. Application Ownership & Governance
Act as the primary owner of local business applications within the CDT organization, ensuring the stability, security, performance, and lifecycle management of front-end retail applications.
2. Stakeholder & Vendor Management
Partner closely with business stakeholders, global IT teams, and external vendors to align technology solutions with local business requirements while ensuring compliance with corporate IT standards and policies.
3. Retail Platform Operations & Support
Oversee the operational health and support of omnichannel retail platforms, including POS, inventory management, and e-commerce systems, ensuring high availability, optimal performance, and timely issue resolution.
4. IT Strategy & Continuous Improvement
Develop and execute the local application roadmap, identifying opportunities to enhance business capabilities through process optimization, innovation, and the adoption of emerging technologies aligned with the overall IT strategy.
5. Project Leadership & Delivery
Lead end-to-end IT application projects, including planning, execution, risk management, vendor coordination, and stakeholder communication, ensuring successful delivery within scope, budget, and timeline.
