Automation Engineer (Python)

We are seeking a proactive and technically proficient TVC to manage laboratory operations, develop innovative lab solutions, and lead key projects. This role requires a blend of hands-on technical skills in cloud technologies and Python, coupled with project leadership abilities to drive efficiency and support our business objectives in the device partner ecosystem. You will be instrumental in maintaining our state-of-the-art lab environment and spearheading the development of tools and automation that enhance our device testing and compliance capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Lab Infrastructure Management

• Oversee the daily operations of the Lab, ensuring all devices, network components, and services are functioning optimally.
• Manage and maintain a diverse inventory of devices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues within the lab environment.
• Coordinate with facilities and other teams for lab maintenance and upgrades.

Lab Solutions Development:

• Design, develop, and implement Python-based scripts and applications to automate lab processes, device testing, and data collection.
• Utilize GCP services (e.g., Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, BigQuery, Vertex AI) to build scalable and robust lab solutions.
• Enhance and support existing lab tools and platforms such as Compas and YTAS.
• Integrate with various APIs and systems to streamline workflows.

Project Leadership & Execution

• Lead and manage specific technical projects.
• Collaborate with stakeholders.
• Collaborate with engineers, TAMs, and other cross-functional teams to deliver impactful solutions.

Technical Support & Collaboration

• Provide technical expertise and support to internal teams utilizing the lab resources.
• Assist in the setup and execution of test plans for device certification, compliance, and performance analysis.
• Document solutions, processes, and best practices.

Requirements and Skills:

• Cloud Computing: Strong experience with cloud platforms, particularly GCP. Proficiency in using core services like Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, BigQuery, and Vertex AI.
• Python Programming: Senior-level Python skills with a proven track record of developing tools, scripts, and applications for automation and system integration.
• Project Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects and drive results in a dynamic environment.
• Technical Troubleshooting: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues across hardware, software, and networks.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Japanese. Ability to articulate technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
• Operating Systems: Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments.
