Job Description
This role leads detailed design and backend development for applications supporting a large-scale data platform. You will combine hands-on engineering with technical leadership, influencing architecture and long-term product direction.

Our client is a large multinational internet services group operating one of Japan's most complex data ecosystems. Its central data platform function supports dozens of digital services with data ingestion, analytics, governance, and decision-support capabilities.
Description
- Design and implement robust application and microservices architectures
- Lead and mentor a small team of backend engineers, ensuring high code quality through reviews and best practices
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional and distributed engineering teams
- Contribute to mid- and long-term product and platform vision
- Conduct proof-of-concept activities to evaluate new technologies
- Drive performance optimization, reliability, and security improvements
- Support CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native deployments using containers and orchestration tools

Required Skills
- 5+ years of software development experience using Java, Python, or Golang
- Hands-on experience with microservices architecture (Spring Boot / Spring Cloud)
- Strong understanding of the full web development lifecycle (design to deployment)
- Experience designing and building tools based on concrete business or technical requirements
- Solid knowledge of RESTful APIs, unit testing, and integration testing
- Experience with SQL and modern relational databases
- Familiarity with Redis and/or Memcached for caching
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or ArgoCD
- Practical knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes
- Understanding of design patterns, performance tuning, and security best practices
- Comfortable working in an Agile, team-oriented environment
- Experience with GCP or other public cloud platforms
- Background in building or operating data platforms
- Exposure to Kafka, Spark, or Airflow
- Experience with task or workflow automation
- English: Business level (e.g., TOEIC 800+)
- Japanese: Not required
