Job Description

Job Summary
The QAQC M&E Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all Mechanical and Electrical works are executed in accordance with project specifications, applicable standards, approved drawings, and regulatory requirements. This role involves site inspections, quality documentation, coordination with consultants and contractors, and supporting project teams to achieve quality objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, implement, and maintain QAQC plans, procedures, and inspection test plans (ITP) for M&E works.

  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor work quality, workmanship, and compliance with approved drawings and specifications.

  • Ensure M&E installations comply with contractual requirements, statutory regulations, and international/local standards.

  • Coordinate with project engineers, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers to resolve quality-related issues.

  • Review and verify method statements, technical submissions, shop drawings, and material submittals.

  • Witness testing, commissioning, and inspection of M&E systems and equipment.

  • Manage non‑conformance reports (NCR), corrective actions, and preventive measures.

  • Maintain proper QAQC documentation and records, including inspection reports, test results, and handover documents.

  • Support audits (internal / client / regulatory) and ensure continuous improvement of quality processes.

  • Assist in final inspections, snagging, and project handover activities.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.

  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in QAQC for M&E works (contractor or consultant side).

  • Strong knowledge of M&E systems including HVAC, firefighting, plumbing, ELV, LV systems, or related disciplines.

  • Familiar with construction standards, codes, and statutory requirements (local authority, CIDB, DOSH, etc.).

  • Experience in preparing QAQC documents, inspection reports, and technical submissions.

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

  • Good communication, coordination, and problem‑solving skills.

  • Willing to be site‑based and work extended hours when required.

 

Preferred / Added Advantages

  • Experience in high‑rise building, industrial, or infrastructure projects.

  • ISO 9001 QAQC exposure or internal auditor certification.

  • Familiar with testing & commissioning (T&C) processes.

  • Proficiency in MS Office and reporting tools.
