Responsibilities:

• Manage and lead the purchasing team including coaching and development of staff
• Engage stakeholders to implement best practice procurement processes and policies
• Manage and optimise purchasing portfolio in coordination with global and local teams
• Deliver effective procurement services to support laboratory operations
• Drive cost reduction initiatives aligned with global targets
• Ensure compliance and governance across procurement to pay processes
• Partner with stakeholders to align sourcing strategies with business needs
• Identify and execute sourcing initiatives to deliver value and cost efficiency
• Lead sourcing processes including RFI and RFQ and conduct supplier negotiations
• Perform cost and price analysis and recommend contract awards
• Manage supplier relationships and contract performance
• Monitor market trends and provide insights on best practices and benchmarking
• Resolve supplier issues including claims, conflicts, and quality concerns
• Promote standardisation of equipment and supplier base optimisation
• Deliver timely reporting to management and global teams
• Support audits and strengthen internal controls and compliance processes
• Participate in ERP implementation and process standardisation initiatives
• Respond to ad hoc requests from global and regional stakeholders

Requirements:

• More than 10 years of relevant experience in procurement or sourcing
• Experience in procurement strategy, supplier management, and cost optimisation
• Proficient in negotiation, project management, and analytical skills
• Possess strong leadership and stakeholder management capabilities
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• Professional level Japanese; business level English
