Automotive Software Test Engineer (Audio Focus)

This role focuses on software validation, automation, and debugging for next‑generation automotive audio systems. You will contribute directly to improving embedded audio performance by working closely with local and offshore engineering teams.

Description

• Create test plans, procedures, and test reports for embedded audio software
• Develop automation test scripts (primarily Python) and maintain test frameworks
• Analyse issues, support debugging activities, and maintain the defect tracking system
• Participate in requirements and design reviews across the development cycle
• Lead or support root‑cause analysis and validation scheduling
• Collaborate with offshore engineering teams and manage assigned validation tasks
• Work with automotive interfaces such as CAN, A2B, MOST, RS‑485, and Ethernet AVB
• Utilise oscilloscopes, function generators, and other tools for signal analysis
• Contribute to continuous improvement of testing infrastructure and automation environments

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or similar
• 6+ years of experience in software testing or software development
• Strong hands‑on experience with Python; familiarity with C/C++ and MATLAB
• Experience in automotive, audio, embedded systems, or related testing domains
• Knowledge of CAD tools and CAN‑based automation
• Understanding of DSP concepts and automotive communication networks
• Comfortable using oscilloscopes and signal analysis tools
• Business‑level Japanese and English, able to communicate with offshore teams
• Strong communication skills, proactive mindset, and ability to work both independently and in small teams
