PR/096706 | (Junior) Execution Trader - Hedge Fund

Location Singapore, Singapore
Job Type Permanent Full-time
Salary Negotiable, based on experience

Job Description

OVERVIEW

Our client is a Singapore-based hedge fund manager with a primary focus on the Japanese equities. As they continue to grow and expand their strategies, they are looking for a disciplined, detail-oriented Execution Trader to join their Trading team.

Role Overview

The Execution Trader will work closely with the Senior Execution Trader and CIO to ensure the flawless execution of trades. This is a high-impact role requiring a candidate who is dependable, calm under pressure, and capable of operating as a reliable "right hand" to the senior trading desk.

Key Responsibilities

  • Order Execution: Execute long/short equity and futures orders across the Japan and Asia markets, focusing on Best Execution to minimise slippage and market impact.

  • Trade Lifecycle Management: Ensure the accuracy of trade entries and coordinate with Operations for seamless post-trade processing and T+0 matching.

  • Market Intelligence: Monitor real-time market developments, liquidity trends, and news flow to provide the CIO and Senior Trader with timely execution insights.

  • Broker Relations: Maintain professional relationships with sell-side execution desks and ensure optimal service levels.

Requirements

  • Professional Experience: 1–3 years of experience in trade execution. Prior experience in a hedge fund or institutional environment is a strong advantage.

  • Asset Class Knowledge: Solid understanding of equities and futures. Familiarity with the Japanese market is preferred.

  • Operational Discipline: A "zero-mistake" mindset. You must be highly organized and able to follow strict trading protocols without constant supervision.

  • Team Player: A collaborative attitude. You are here to support the fund's success and work harmoniously with the CIO and other functions.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel. Experience with EMS/OMS platforms.

  • Communication: Strong command of English. Proficiency in Japanese is a plus given the market focus, but not a requirement.

We regret to inform that only shortlisted candidates will be notified. Appreciate your understanding.
