This role leads backend architecture and high-performance service development for a dynamic social media platform. You will design scalable microservices, optimise system performance, and guide the engineering team toward technical excellence.

Description
- Design and optimise microservices capable of handling high‑volume read/write workloads
- Architect scalable APIs supporting posts, comments, likes, and user interactions
- Collaborate on key architectural decisions for new features and system enhancements
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews and technical guidance
- Improve database performance across multiple MySQL instances for read-heavy operations
- Implement caching strategies using Redis to maintain sub‑second latency
- Participate in on‑call rotation to ensure platform reliability and uptime
- Lead technical initiatives and contribute to engineering standards and best practices

Required Skills
Must Have:
- 3+ years of Go programming experience with strong knowledge of concurrency, optimisation, and production debugging
- Hands-on experience with MySQL/PostgreSQL, including query optimisation and performance tuning
- Expertise building RESTful APIs with rate limiting, authentication, and authorisation
- Proven experience running high‑traffic, high‑throughput applications at scale
- Knowledge of caching strategies using Redis, Memcached, or equivalent technologies
- Senior-level capability in code review, technical judgement, and mentoring
- Experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, etc.)
- Understanding of observability stacks including logging, monitoring, and distributed tracing
- GraphQL implementation experience
- Background in image/media processing and storage optimisation
- Experience developing real‑time features using WebSockets, SSE, or push notifications
- Japanese: Daily conversational level
- English: Business level
