Role overview

Data Center Capacity Engineer is responsible for capacity management and controlled execution of equipment placement within the Bank’s Data Center and server room environment.

This role ensures all infrastructure installations, decommission and physical changes are executed in accordance with internal policies and engineering standards. Day-to-day involves capacity forecast, managing vendors and ensure that equipment placements aligns with power, cooling, space and network capacity constraints.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and approve rack-level equipment placements activities across Bank Data Center and server rooms
• Ensure installation comply with approved capacity models (power, cooling, rack space and structured cabling)
• Validate load impact prior to placement, including electrical phase balancing and cooling distribution
• Enforce compliance with engineering standards and segregation
• Monitor capacity thresholds and escalate constraints proactively
• Oversee vendor performance against contractual SLA
• Provide forward-looking rack, power and cooling capacity forecasts
• Identify recurring installation bottlenecks and implement structural improvements
• Drive standardization of rack layout, cable routing and deployment framework

Qualification and experience

• At least 5 years’ experience in Data Center Operations and/or Data Center Technical Pre-sales
• Hands-on experience in rack-level equipment placement and structured cabling governance
• Strong understanding of:
  - Power density management
  - Phase balancing
  - Cooling load considerations
  - Structured cabling topology
