A leading PCBs and semiconductor packaging company in Penang is seeking a Senior MRO Buyer as key strategic role responsible for leading and optimizing the procurement of Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) supplies across the organization.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop and execute MRO category strategies to achieve cost savings, mitigate risks, and improve supply reliability.
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers to broaden the company’s supply base and enhance competitiveness.
• Lead high-value and complex negotiations to secure favorable commercial terms, service levels, and long-term agreements.
• Conduct market intelligence, benchmarking, and trend analysis to anticipate supply risks and industry changes.
• Manage strategic supplier relationships and lead quarterly business reviews to strengthen performance, reliability, and innovation.
• Monitor supplier KPIs such as on-time delivery, quality performance, contract compliance, and cost competitiveness.
• Resolve escalated supplier issues, supply disruptions, and non-conformance cases through proactive problem-solving.
• Drive supplier development initiatives to improve service levels, efficiency, and sustainability.
• Partner with engineering, maintenance, production, finance, and safety teams to understand and meet MRO requirements.

• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior procurement staff, supporting their development and capability-building.

   

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field
• At least 5 years in MRO procurement, supplier management and qualification
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams
• Knowledge in contract management
