Position summary:
The OIST Core Facilities contribute to research and education by providing high-quality research facilities and research support services to researchers and students at OIST. The Instrumental Analysis Section (IAS) is one of the technical support sections within the Core Facilities. IAS hosts more than 40 instruments, including Mass Spectrometry (MS), Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR), Flow Cytometry (FACS), and other large analytical instruments as common research facilities. IAS manages and provides technical support to enable advanced research across the University.
OIST seeks an experienced and service-oriented Instrumental Analysis Section Leader to lead the IAS and ensure excellent technical and operational support for the OIST research community. The Section Leader will oversee the scientific, operational, administrative, and people-management responsibilities of the section, including leadership of a team of approximately 5 staff members. The role requires strong operational discipline (equipment lifecycle management, safety, budgeting, and service delivery), combined with the ability to engage effectively with faculty, researchers, students, and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will employ demonstrated experience in core services of IAS, user training and analytical experiment consultation. Similarly, demonstrating experience with strategic planning, management, and administration to support high-level research and education.

OISTでは、IASを統括し、OISTの研究コミュニティに対して高品質な技術サポートおよび運用支援を提供できる、経験豊富でサービス志向のセクションリーダーを募集しています。セクションリーダーは、約5名のスタッフで構成されるチームのリーダーとして、科学的・運用面・管理業務・人材マネジメントなど、セクションに関わる幅広い責任を担います。この役職には、機器ライフサイクル管理、安全管理、予算管理、サービス品質の維持など、強いオペレーション能力に加え、教員・研究者・学生・外部関係者と効果的に連携できるコミュニケーション力が求められます。 採用される方は、IASが提供するコアサービスに関する十分な経験に基づき、ユーザー向けトレーニングや分析実験に関する技術相談を行います。また、高度な研究・教育活動を支えるための戦略的計画立案、管理・運営に関する実績も重要です。
