Role Overview

The Assembly Engineer is responsible for designing and developing assembly (Assy) processes for the Body Line, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity. The role requires knowledge of JDF creation and the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for developing and designing assembly processes for Body Line operations.
• Prepare process documents such as SOPs, work instructions, layouts, and process flows.
• Develop and revise JDFs as per engineering and production requirements.
• Review and interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical specifications for process planning.
• Identify potential assembly issues and coordinate corrective actions with cross-functional teams.
• Support new model introductions, prototype builds, and trial runs.
• Conduct cycle time study, layout optimisation, and line balancing to enhance productivity.
• Work on process improvements using lean manufacturing tools.
• Support installation, validation, and improvement of assembly tools, jigs, and fixtures.
• Collaborate with design, production, quality, and maintenance teams for smooth process execution.
• Provide training to operators and support teams on new or updated assembly processes.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills:

• Basic knowledge of JDF development.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (including GD&T preferred).
• Understanding of assembly operations and Body Line processes.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing concepts (preferred).
