Job Description

POSITION TITLE Software Engineer – Livestock Management / AgTech

 

POSITION SUMMARY

In this role, you will help develop a livestock management digital platform by designing and building software that integrates feeding equipment, sensors, and external systems. You will optimize backend and data processing capabilities, collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams, and support deployment and continuous improvement in North American customer environments.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Design and develop software for livestock applications (animal records, health monitoring, feeding, analytics)

  • Build backend services, APIs, and databases for large-scale livestock data

  • Integrate data from feeding equipment, sensors, and third‑party livestock platforms

  • Work cross‑functionally with product, hardware, IoT, and operations teams

  • Contribute to system architecture, technical decisions, and long-term roadmap planning

  • Build internal tools, dashboards, and reporting features

  • Support deployment, monitoring, and optimization in North American customer environments

  • Assist with technical documentation (architecture, data flows, APIs, platform usage)

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • 3–5 years of software engineering experience, ideally in agriculture/livestock/dairy software

  • Experience with or understanding of CattleMax, HerdOne, AgriWebb, CattlePro, or CowManager

  • Proficiency in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or similar languages

  • Experience with cloud-based applications, APIs, and databases

  • Strong understanding of livestock/farm operations

  • Ability to collaborate across hardware, data, and business teams

  • Strong problem-solving mindset and comfort in a fast-growing environment

 

PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • IoT or sensor integration experience

  • Experience with analytics, dashboards, or decision-support tools

  • Exposure to AI/ML in agriculture or livestock

  • Experience supporting North American cattle or dairy operations

  • Startup or scale‑up experience

 

LOCATION Ontario, California

 

SALARY USD90,000-150,000 (based on experience and skills)
