This leadership role reports directly to the President of the Research Institute.

The Opportunity: They are seeking a visionary and highly experienced Head of Optical Technology to lead the optical system design and development efforts, with a specialized focus on atomic emission spectroscopy. You will be instrumental in driving technical breakthroughs, building a high-performing team, and translating cutting-edge research into commercial products.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead the full lifecycle of optical system design, development, and verification, ensuring technical objectives and project timelines are met.

  • Drive pre-research and innovation in optical technology, particularly within atomic emission spectroscopy.

  • Solve complex technical challenges in optical system design (e.g., precision alignment, low-noise spectroscopy).

  • Develop and mentor a strong optical technology team, enhancing their professional and engineering capabilities.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with electronics, mechanical, and software teams to commercialize innovative products.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • 10+ years of extensive experience in optical system design or atomic emission spectroscopy R&D, with a proven track record from design to product commercialization.

  • Expert proficiency in optical design methodologies and software (Zemax, Code V, LightTools).

  • In-depth knowledge of plasma light sources, spectroscopic dispersion systems, and detectors.

  • Mastery of atomic emission spectroscopy principles and related system design/simulation.

  • Proven technical team management experience, including strategic roadmap development and project delivery.

  • Strong cross-departmental coordination and communication skills.

  • Language: Professional English proficiency required. Mandarin proficiency is NOT a prerequisite for this role.
