Job Description

【 About the company 】
The company is involved in mobility-related business, such as safety management support for companies that manage fleets.
・Next-Generation AI Dashcam Service: Developing and operating a service that supports accident reduction.
・Next-Generation Data Utilization Platform: Projects focused on developing next-generation data utilization platforms, such as the automatic extraction of differences in road information.
・Driving Management Support Service: Developing and operating services for managing the driving of commercial vehicles.

【 Job Description 】

【Overview】
You will be involved in a wide range of tasks related to the development and operation of the AI model that supports the traffic accident reduction assistance service.

The service uses AI and IoT to automatically detect high-risk scenarios likely to lead to accidents from data gathered by dedicated in-vehicle devices (like dashcams), and then analyzes driving habits. By combining data from interior/exterior video, acceleration sensors, and GPS, it visualizes dangerous driving that the driver may not realize (e.g., failing to stop completely). Through reports and real-time alerts for conditions like drowsiness, drivers can identify their own habits and lapses in concentration.

【Responsibilities】
You will be responsible for the development, improvement, and operation of AI models that detect dangerous driving behavior.
・Requirements and Specifications: Defining requirements and formulating specifications through communication with the business division and customers.
・Model Development: Building AI models, analyzing issues, and improving performance using video, GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System), and IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) data as source materials.
・Implementation and Deployment: Implementing AI models into the live service, optimizing models for reduced size, and managing the release process.
・Operations: Providing continuous maintenance, operation, and reducing operational costs.

【Recruitment Background】
The number of contracted vehicles for this service now exceeds 90,000 and is expected to continue growing. To support this growth, it is essential to further enhance the performance and efficiency of the AI models. Additionally, the company will expand features related to the AI models to further boost the service's value.

【Experience Gained in This Role】
・Real-World MLOps: You will gain experience building and continuously operating machine learning models used in a live service, including all the complex, hands-on work—not just experimentation.
・Big Data Analysis: You will analyze and utilize driving data (video, GNSS, IMU, etc.) collected from 90,000 contracted dashcam vehicles, along with the inference results from deployed AI models.
・Cross-Functional Collaboration: You will gain experience developing and operating AI models by collaborating with other engineering teams (data, edge, etc.) and business divisions (such as Customer Success).
・Social Impact: You will have the fulfilling experience of directly contributing to the social good of reducing traffic accidents through the development and operation of AI models.

【Development Environment】
Language: Python
Libraries: pandas, scikit-learn, LightGBM, PyTorch
Visualization: Redash, Kepler.gl, Plotly
Infrastructure: AWS / GCP
Database: Aurora (MySQL) / BigQuery
Source Code Management: GitHub

【Your Team】
■The Data Scientist team consists of 6 members.
・Core Focus: They are responsible for the development and operation of AI models that detect dangerous driving behavior.
・Organizational Guideline: The team's guiding principle is to rapidly execute the hypothesis-testing cycle centered on data to reduce uncertainty in development.
・Culture: A strong culture of careful communication, documentation, and review is ingrained, as they frequently collaborate with internal and external members who have different specializations.
・Growth Environment: The organization highly values personal growth. The environment is set up for skill enhancement through assignment planning that considers career formation and support for self-development (e.g., subsidies for cloud costs).
