POSITION TITLE Senior Property Underwriter
POSITION SUMMARY
A leading global insurance group is expanding its U.S. operations and seeking an experienced Senior Property Underwriter to join its team.
In this position will be responsible for underwriting profitable property business across the U.S., focusing on complex risks and customized insurance solutions. This role requires strong analytical skills, relationship-building capabilities, and a deep understanding of underwriting practices.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Underwrite complex property risks within delegated authority
Review applications, financials, and risk factors to assess acceptability
Apply pricing techniques in line with company filings and regulatory standards
Monitor premium and loss trends within assigned portfolio
Provide high-quality service to brokers and clients for new, renewal, and interim requests
Build and maintain strong broker and client relationships
Develop tailored insurance solutions in collaboration with brokers and clients
Identify and pursue new business opportunities
Analyze and document underwriting decisions, rate appeals, and declinations
Ensure compliance with internal and regulatory documentation standards
Conduct joint visits with internal teams (Risk Engineering, Claims, Marketing) to support business growth
Enhance technical expertise in industrial and global property underwriting
Support training and development of underwriting staff as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree required
Minimum 7 years of multi-line underwriting experience
Existing producer relationships preferred
Proven negotiation and production skills
Strong verbal and written communication abilities
LOCATION Downtown Los Angeles, CA / Midtown Manhattan, NY / Dallas, TX / Chicago, IL
(Final location to be determined based on candidate preference and client needs)
SALARY USD110,000-215,000 (based on experience, location, and other job-related factors)

OTHER DETAILS
This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.
