Audit Manager in a Global Insurance Firm

This is a senior opportunity to lead operational audits within a major life insurance firm. You'll play a key role in risk-based reviews, team leadership, and reporting to global stakeholders.

Description

• Planning audit engagements: scope, objectives, team setup, and timelines
• Leading risk-based testing of processes and controls
• Reviewing team outputs to ensure audit quality and consistency
• Drafting audit opinions and reports in English for senior stakeholders
• Managing team assignments and progress against time budgets
• Supporting the team lead in annual and quarterly audit planning
• Providing coaching and feedback to junior auditors

Required Experience (any of the following):

• Operational roles in life insurance (e.g. underwriting, claims, call centre, policy admin)
• Internal audit experience in a corporate or audit firm
• Advisory or assurance services in a professional services firm

Skills & Attributes:

• Strong analytical and logical thinking
• Excellent writing and presentation skills (Japanese & English)
• Interviewing and listening skills
• Ability to identify risks from business changes
• Team-oriented and proactive work style
• Proficiency in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
• Knowledge of relevant laws and FSA guidelines

Language Requirements:

• Japanese: Native-level
• English: Business-level (reading, writing, basic presentation)

Preferred Qualifications:

• CIA, JCPA, USCPA
• Experience with FSA inspections
• Knowledge of life insurance products and operations
• Familiarity with operational risk and internal controls
• Ability to work with data analytics tools (e.g. Alteryx)
• Basic understanding of statistics and quantitative methods
