Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager (Solar) to lead and manage our solar development projects in Kuala Lumpur. The successful candidate will be responsible for the full project lifecycle — from pre-construction planning, financial control, and procurement to construction, commissioning, and post-project asset management. 

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Pre-Construction & Financial Management
    •    Develop, propose, and manage project budgets, schedules, and costs.
    •    Review and manage owner’s contract requirements including bonds, fees, and regulatory compliance.
    •    Prepare monthly cost and labour projections.
    •    Coordinate with procurement, administration, and QHSE managers to ensure smooth pre-construction activities.
    •    Manage subcontractor relationships, proposals, and scopes of work.
    •    Collaborate with developers, suppliers, and authorities to ensure milestone readiness.
    •    Contribute to business growth by leveraging industry expertise and connections.

 

Construction Stage
    •    Lead site mobilization, subcontractor management, and equipment scheduling.
    •    Conduct pre-construction and safety meetings in compliance with DOSH requirements.
    •    Oversee daily operations, safety reporting, and authority inspections.
    •    Ensure timely delivery of project milestones and subcontractor obligations.

 

Project Administration & Close-Out
    •    Maintain project schedules, milestone tracking, and commissioning checklists.
    •    Provide close-out documentation to clients.
    •    Ensure workplace safety, asset security, and compliance with EEO and quality standards.

 

Post-Construction / O&M
    •    Oversee commissioning and ensure optimal performance of solar assets.
    •    Manage emergency response and maintenance during the PPA period.
    •    Monitor asset performance and coordinate planned/unplanned servicing.

 

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS: 
    •    Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
    •    Valid registration with Board of Engineers Malaysia.
    •    Certification from SEDA Malaysia Grid Connected PV Systems Design Course is an advantage.
    •    Minimum 5 years’ experience in electrical/renewable energy industry.
    •    Strong knowledge of solar, BESS, SEDA, Energy Commission (EC), and FIT regulatory frameworks.
    •    Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet schedules.
    •    Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
    •    Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
    •    Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of PVSYS is an advantage.
