Strategic Sourcing Specialist

This position will be responsible for handling supplier discussions and formalizing agreements within specific purchasing areas. By taking on these operational tasks, the role enables category teams to concentrate on high-level strategic initiatives. All procurement activities will be conducted in alignment with the overarching plans established for each category.

With a strong presence in Japan, it employs approximately 200 people locally, contributing to its dynamic and diverse business operations.

Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage sourcing activities across defined categories and spend thresholds
• Lead supplier negotiations and resolve operational issues
• Ensure supplier performance, risk mitigation, and contract compliance
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand needs and support procurement decisions
• Contribute to process improvements and optimize buying channels

Stakeholder Collaboration:

• Work with internal teams to shape requirements for inclusion in scopes of work.

Continuous Improvement:

• Share supplier insights and trends with category teams.
• Partner with sourcing and content teams to refine purchasing channels.

• Bachelor's degree in business, procurement, or related field
• Fluent in Japanese with strong English proficiency
• Tech-savvy and eager to learn
• Collaborative, proactive, and results-oriented
• 3+ years of procurement experience with stakeholder engagement
• Contracting experience preferred but not required
