Job Description

Our client is a European based company, provider of fully integrated electronic and mechatronic design and manufacturing solutions in Penang. They are looking for candidate with experience global customs, trade, export and import compliance. 

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Stay informed of regulatory developments both within and outside the company, along with evolving best practices in compliance controls.
  • Collaborate closely with the corporate group legal advisor, chief operations officer, procurement director, business development leads, and business unit general managers to oversee the enforcement of applicable standards and regulations.
  • Design, manage, and refine corporate processes to prevent breaches of regulatory and compliance obligations.
  • Remain alert to changes in export control laws and regulations, providing analysis of their relevance and potential impact on company products, technologies, and existing export policies and procedures.
  • Interpret trade and compliance policies, offering regulatory guidance on export compliance procedures and documentation.
  • Evaluate the company’s new business ventures and product offerings to identify any necessary compliance measures.
  • Deliver expert advice, training, and practical solutions for a range of compliance and regulatory matters.
  • Compile and submit comprehensive reports for senior leadership and external agencies or organizations, as required
  • Oversee and recommend the company’s external compliance resources and vendor partnerships.
  • Administer the company’s global customs, trade, import, and export operations and processes.
  • Serve as the corporate lead for Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives, as well as Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs.

 

Job Requirements

  • At least 10 years of working experience in global customs, trade, export and import compliance, preferably with knowledge of the electronic industry’s standards and regulations
  • Knowledge in general product compliance (e.g. RoHS, REACH, Conflict Minerals, TSCA, California Proposition 65, SCIP-EU Waste Framework Management, medical device regulations, etc)
  • Capable to perform risk analysis and assessment in relevant to trade
