Position: Optics Engineer
Salary: 30,000 – 50,000 THB/Month
Location: Bangpoo Industrial Estate, Samut Prakan
Responsibilities:
Lead optical design activities from concept through production launch, ensuring technical deliverables are completed on time.
Supervise and mentor junior optics engineers, assigning tasks and reviewing their work.
Coordinate with project leaders and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with customer milestones and engineering schedules.
Analyze and interpret internal and customer specifications to define robust optical concepts.
Oversee simulation and validation activities using tools such as Lucid Shape, SPEOS, ZEMAX, and internal methods.
Conduct advanced optical calculations, including statistical tolerancing, thermal impact, and photometric correlation.
Facilitate design reviews and interface with external suppliers and customers during project meetings.
Support innovation through brainstorming, patent suggestions, and evaluation of new optical technologies.
Ensure team compliance with corporate design standards, design rules, and standardization guidelines.
Monitor and report design progress to engineering management and escalate risks as needed.
Contribute to the development of internal processes and tools to improve design quality and team efficiency.
Stay updated on optical trends, industry developments, patents, and competitive benchmarking
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Physics, or related); Civil Engineering is excluded.
Minimum 4–7 years of experience in automotive lighting or an optics design-related field.
Strong proficiency in 3D CAD software: CATIA V5 / 3DEXPERIENCE, Siemens NX, or SolidWorks.
Expert-level experience with optical simulation tools: Lucid Shape, SPEOS, ZEMAX, or equivalent.
Experience leading technical teams or supervising junior engineers in a development environment.
Solid understanding of plastic optics, LED lighting principles, and injection molding constraints.
Good command of English; Thai language proficiency is a plus.
Experience in Tier-1 or OEM automotive lighting projects is preferred.
