COMPANY OVERVIEW
An audit/tax company is seeking a Tax Specialist to oversee a portfolio of clients and lead a team in delivering top-tier tax advisory and compliance services. This position is ideal for individuals with a strong interest in tax research, staying current with legislative changes, and offering expert technical guidance to both clients and internal team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES
Manage a portfolio of clients and lead teams in delivering tax services, including corporate tax planning, audits, and investigations.
Monitor and interpret changes in direct and indirect tax laws (e.g., Income Tax, SST), and prepare technical updates and articles for internal and external stakeholders.
Assist in developing presentation materials for tax webinars and training sessions on topics such as corporate tax, RPGT, transfer pricing, and SST.
Provide detailed technical advice on complex tax issues to staff and clients.
Liaise with the Inland Revenue Board and Royal Malaysian Customs Department to resolve tax matters.
Support business development efforts through technical input and client engagement.
Undertake additional responsibilities and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the tax department.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with a focus on Taxation, or possesses a recognized professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA Australia, CTIM, ICAEW, or equivalent.
Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in taxation, ideally within a public accounting firm or corporate tax environment.
Demonstrated ability to perform in-depth tax research and analysis.
Strong technical expertise across various areas of tax advisory.
Capable of setting clear objectives and guiding the team effectively.
Skilled in mentoring and developing team members.
Proficient in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin.
Mandarin proficiency is essential for effective communication with Mandarin-speaking clients.
