Job Description

We're looking for a skilled Quality Assurance Manager to lead software testing activities for multiple consumer brands in Japan, ensuring reliable, high-quality releases. This role combines hands-on QA work with leadership of local and offshore teams in a global, multicultural setting.

Description

  • Lead and execute QA activities in an agile environment to ensure timely, high-quality software delivery.
  • Define testing strategies, manage test planning, and maintain regression suites.
  • Report test progress, risks, and defects clearly to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate end-to-end testing with regional and global teams.
  • Build strong relationships with cross-functional teams and technical partners.
  • Analyse production issues and collaborate on solutions and process improvements.
  • Mentor QA team members both onsite and offshore, fostering a culture of quality and accountability.
  • Support automation framework development in collaboration with global teams.
  • Ensure testing standards align with global guidelines while meeting local business needs.

Required Skills

  • 6+ years of QA experience (preferably in retail/eCommerce or consumer brands).
  • Experience in leadership or management role.
  • Familiarity with agile development and enterprise-level testing.
  • Experience with QA methodologies, SDLC, and tools (e.g., JIRA, Xray).
  • Business level in both Japanese and English (fluent level).
  • Good to have: experience with automation tools (e.g., Selenium, TOSCA) and retail systems (eCommerce platforms, OMS, POS, ERP).
