Job Opportunity: AWS Migration Project Manager (Japan)

We are looking for a highly experienced AWS Migration Project Manager to lead cloud migration and infrastructure standardization initiatives for a financial institution in Japan.

Key Qualifications:

Strong project management experience with a focus on AWS/cloud migrations
Fluency in Japanese and English
Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and global delivery models

Roles and Responsibilities

Project Management
Lead end-to-end AWS cloud migration projects in coordination with customer IT teams and business units
Define project scope, timelines, and quality benchmarks
Maintain project plans and documentation throughout the lifecycle
Collaborate with hybrid teams located onsite and offshore (India)
Stakeholder Engagement
Build and maintain productive relationships across business and technical teams
Ensure clear and timely communication with all stakeholders
Interface with business users, client IT teams, development teams, and vendors
Communication & Reporting
Act as the main communication bridge between stakeholders and technical teams
Deliver project updates, risk assessments, and progress reports in Japanese and English
Facilitate issue resolution and status tracking at the executive level
Quality Assurance
Oversee testing and validation processes to ensure solution integrity
Manage project change requests and maintain documentation quality
Drive excellence across project delivery
Knowledge Sharing & Support
Promote best practices and share lessons learned within the team
Contribute to process improvements and team development

Additional Responsibilities
Participate in RFP/proposal creation as needed
Deliver presentations and demonstrate solutions to clients in Japan

Minimum Experience Level Over 10 years

Minimum Education Level Bachelor's Degree
Visa Status Permission to work in Japan required

Required Skills

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
15+ years of proven project management experience in IT, with a solid record of successful project delivery
Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes and documentation standards
Hands-on experience with AWS/cloud migration projects
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence outcomes and build strong stakeholder relationships
Fluent in Japanese and English—both spoken and written

Preferred Qualifications
PMP (Project Management Professional) certification
Experience leading digital transformation and cloud migration initiatives
Background in the financial services domain, particularly with card companies or consumer finance portfolios
