COMPANY OVERVIEW
A publishing company is looking for a News Translator for its NY Office. This position plays a key role in sourcing, creating, and producing translated news articles for publication and other English-language platforms or content distribution services operated by the group companies.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Translate articles, headlines, and captions published by this publishing company and other group companies

• Proofread, edit, and revise translated articles to ensure clarity, accuracy, and alignment with editorial standards

• Conduct research, verification, and fact-checking to enhance the quality and reliability of translations

• Perform other editorial tasks as assigned by the supervisor

   

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience in a related field

• Proficiency in Japanese and English

• Experience in Japanese-to-English translation in a fast-paced newsroom environment preferred

• Strong skills in research, verification, and fact-checking to enhance the quality of news translations

• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively both remotely and on-site as part of a team

• Willingness to perform additional tasks as needed

   

SALARY & Benefits

USD $58,000 - $72,000+ Additional compensation (bonus) + Generous benefits package

Work location: New York, NY 

* This is a hybrid position. (All employees must work in-office at least 2 times per week)
