Data Center Engineer

Job Overview
As a data center engineer, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, design, and optimization of the data center, and will work to ensure stable operation and performance improvement of the system infrastructure. 

Job Description

• Installation, testing and maintenance of IT communication infrastructure and cables: Lay, connect and test fiber optic cables, copper Cat6 data and voice cables (including Krone blocks).
• Maintaining the operational status of the data center: Responsible for maintaining the standards, procedures, health and safety of the data center, monitoring the operational status and reporting on performance levels.
• Technical support: Provide technical advice on the data center's M&E infrastructure, manage work tickets and agree on implementation.
• Remote hands support and training: Provide remote hands support for the data center, and are responsible for mentoring, developing and training junior employees.

Required:

• IT-related degree holder or at least 1 year of experience in IT-related work
• Business-level Japanese proficiency 
• Comfortable communicating in English
• Experience with IT infrastructure change/management
• Able to play smoothly as a team and adapt to a multicultural environment
• Able to communicate carefully and smoothly
• Able to pay attention to details (when filling out tickets, records, etc.)
• Experience with project planning, execution and progress management
• Experience with budget formulation and cost management

Preferred:

• Experience with hardware platforms such as Dell, HP
• Experience with Linux
• Knowledge of ITIL framework
• Awareness of data center facilities
• Experience in developing and documenting operational processes
• Experience in investment banking
• ITIL/CDCP, CDCS, Cisco certification
• Holds network, electrical or data center related qualifications
• Project management ability in senior positions
