Quality Engineer (Utsunomiya site)

Job Summary

Join the DuPont Vespel® team at our Utsunomiya plant in Japan and help us improve customer satisfaction and performance as a Quality Engineer. Our plant supplies high-quality products to customers in the APAC region in diverse markets, such as automotive, aerospace, and semiconductors.

As a Quality Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining the quality management system (QMS) based on ISO9001, IATF16949, and AS9100 to meet customer expectations. You will lead cross-functional activities and drive continuous improvement initiatives to ensure that our products exceed the highest standards in the industry.

Role Summary

• Maintain and improve QMS based on IATF16949 and AS9100 standards
• Execute continuous improvement initiatives, such as reducing scrap
• Manage and control product quality provided by domestic CMs
• Facilitate problem-solving to resolve customer complaints and internal quality incidents
• Participate in customer audits and conduct supplier audits as an auditor
• Exchange quality-related information among Vespel® sister sites

Work Hours and About Flex Time: 

• 9:00 to 17:30 (7.5 hours actual working time). 
• The above is the standard scheduled working time.  
• There is a flextime system with a core time of 11:00 to 15:00.

Skills and Knowledge Required:

• Written and verbal communication skills in Japanese and English
• Problem-solving skills with experience using the 8D methodology
• Understanding of ISO9001 standards
• At least 3 years of experience in quality assurance

Preferred Skills/Experience

• Understanding of IATF16949 and AS9100 standards
• Preferably 1-3 years of experience in automotive, aerospace, or semiconductor field
• Technical-related background such as Design Engineering, Process Engineering, Technical Service, etc.
• Understanding and capability of utilizing Six Sigma methodology.
