Job Description

The Embedded Hardware Engineer role entails primarily re-engineering tasks to address component obsolescence and feature integration within embedded hardware products, coupled with proficiency in the embedded hardware product lifecycle. The candidate will be responsible for connecting with stakeholders, gathering project requirements, and executing design development activities in collaboration with offshore teams, encompassing requirement analysis, design architecting, component selection, reviews, validations, integration, and validation. With a focus on Automotive clients in Japan, particularly in Vision and control systems, the ideal candidate should possess expertise in control systems, PCB management, sensor boards, PCB error resolution, and reverse engineering. Effective communication, collaboration, and the ability to work in a multicultural and remote team environment are essential for success in this role.

Required Skills

Re-engineering Tasks:

  • Perform re-engineering tasks to address component obsolescence or feature inclusion within embedded hardware products.


Embedded Hardware Product Lifecycle Experience:

  • Demonstrate proficiency in activities associated with the embedded hardware product lifecycle.


Stakeholder Communication:

  • Connect with stakeholders to gather project requirements and ensure alignment with project goals.


Design Development:

  • Contribute to and execute design development activities alongside offshore teams.
  • Analyze requirements and change requests.
  • Architect designs and select components.
  • Conduct reviews and validations throughout the development process.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure deliverables meet project objectives.
  • Integrate and validate developed designs.


Automotive Client Focus:

  • Work on products tailored for Automotive clients in Japan, particularly focusing on Vision systems and control systems.


Technical Expertise:

  • Possess experience with control systems and managing PCBs and sensor boards.
  • Ability to address PCB error queries and perform reverse engineering when necessary.


Collaborative Offshore Work:

  • Engage with offshore teams to ensure smooth execution of design and development tasks.


Qualifications:

  • Business level Japanese (N3 or higher) and English mandatory.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in embedded hardware design and development.
  • Strong understanding of the automotive industry and its requirements.
  • Proficiency in PCB design tools and relevant software.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and remote team environment.


Additional Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with vision systems and related technologies.
  • Knowledge of relevant automotive standards and regulations.
