General Role Objectives

• Oversee the business budget and be accountable for meeting KPI and operational objectives.
• Spearheaded efforts to enhance Gross Profit continually.
• Supervise the Operational Excellence and Project Management teams, ensuring their support and alignment.
• Take on the responsibility of coaching and developing operational personnel within the business unit to ensure their competency.
• Handle the operational aspect of customer relationships and strive for high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Possess the authority to make corrective decisions regarding day-to-day operations in order to fulfill customer requirements.
• Foster a culture of ongoing innovation in operational solutions with the team, aimed at long-term success with customers.
• Manage vendors to ensure that operations align with customer expectations.
• Provide leadership and motivation to the team, while driving various continuous improvement initiatives.

About the Role
This position is operating between the customer and all the logistics suppliers. In our customer’s operation whereby LLP is perceived as their logistics organization, this role provides an opportunity to operate in a shipper’s logistics manager role at the same time working for a 3PL.
This role offers a good transition for candidates who are planning for career progression from shipper to 3PL or vice versa.  This role also offers a rather unique opportunity to be part of the
customer’s strategic decision-making process, and at the same time work for a leading logistics company and learn the best practices in logistics. This position holder will have the opportunity to be exposed to working in a global network business engaging a global customer.  This also means opportunities for regular engagement with not only stakeholders in Japan but also others in the APAC region and even at the global level. Such a role would also pave a path toward working overseas.

  Years of Experience (Minimum):

• A minimum of 5 years in a senior management capacity, overseeing Warehouse operations and profitability within a multi-account setting.
• Ideally, at least 2 years of hands-on experience working in an Asian/Japanese context.
• Proficiency in cross-cultural dynamics and a track record of international business exposure.
• Proficiency in the Japanese language is advantageous.
• Demonstrated leadership through effective communication, with the ability to shape outcomes across various regional locations.
• Expertise in strategic management and planning.
• Exceptional organizational skills, coupled with the capacity to make well-informed decisions under pressure.

Expected Educational Qualifications:

• Possession of a degree in a relevant field.
