Feature on August 27th, 2011(Sat.):
To succeed in an interview you must be 100% prepared and ready to prove you are the best candidate for the job; to start a job at a foreign company without understanding how to effectively work and communicate in a foreign office setting will sabotage your own chances for success.
CareerCross has called upon one of the most passionate and knowledgeable speakers on the subject of finding a job and surviving at a foreign-affiliated company, Mr. Ken Koike. He gives real and actionable advice drawing upon his own personal experiences - having discovered what works and what doesn’t. You cannot succeed on reading books or blogs on the subject alone, but through decades of actual experience in sending resumes that get noticed, acing interviews and thriving on the job.
“Get Your Job Now!”, the popular and successful seminar on interview skills on how to get a job at a foreign company will be held in the morning AND “Working with Gaishikei - How to Survive and Thrive” will be held in the afternoon.
At this new seminar, you will learn the inside tips to get off to a good start and impress your boss (and, more importantly, what you must not do). You will leave this seminar knowing how to work well with a foreign boss, communicate effectively, and thrive in the foreign office setting.
Just because one has a high proficiency in English does not guarantee success.

Ken Koike
Japan Regional Sales Director, Chipworks
An inspiring and very passionate speaker, Ken Koike will deliver a practical and constructive roadmap which if people follow; will dramatically increase their chances of securing their job. Ken’s presentation is unique and comes from personal experience, not from a book. He’s spent over 30 years working, struggling and ultimately succeeding in foreign-affiliated firms. Along the way, he’s acquired important insight about the hiring process in gaishikei, from applying to and successfully landing jobs in a variety of multinational companies. Now, as the person who makes the final decision on who gets hired at his current company, he’ll explain in emphatic terms how to avoid the pitfalls, taboos and common mistakes that people make when preparing resumes and conducting themselves in the interview process. Ken is a graduate of Goshen College and has an MBA from Notre Dame University.
