Data Architect / Data Governance Team Lead

Our client is a global life insurance firm with a growing business in Japan and a strong focus on data and analytics.

They are hiring a Data Architect / Data Governance Team Lead to drive enterprise data architecture, data governance and a large-scale data migration from legacy to new systems.

Main duties

• Design current and future data architecture on an Azure-based platform (landing, staging, refined layers)
• Lead large data migration and MDM projects: mapping, validation, audit logs and quality controls
• Guide ETL/ELT pipeline design (Databricks, Informatica, Python)
• Set governance rules for data modelling, data quality, metadata, catalog and MDM
• Lead a team of data engineers and architects and work with IT, business teams and vendors

Must

• Led large-scale data migration projects
• Strong experience in MDM, metadata management and data governance
• Deep RDB modelling skills (star schema, SCD); OLTP and OLAP
• Cloud data platform experience (storage, Databricks, databases)
• Python and Databricks
• Led a team of data engineers or architects
• Strong written and spoken Japanese and English
