An opportunity to join a growing energy business and take a broader role across electricity markets, trading, procurement and risk management.

You will work closely with experienced energy-market professionals, analysing market movements and supply-demand conditions and helping shape trading and hedging strategies.

Responsibilities may include:

• Analyse electricity market prices, supply-demand conditions and market trends
• Support and execute power trading and procurement strategies
• Develop hedging approaches to manage market-price exposure
• Evaluate trading opportunities using market and commercial data
• Monitor portfolio performance and changing market conditions
• Work with internal stakeholders on trading, pricing and risk-related decisions

This could suit someone already working in power markets, or a strong commodity / financial-market professional interested in developing a career in Japan’s electricity sector.

• Required

• Experience in trading, market analysis, risk management, commodities, energy or another closely related field
• Strong numerical and analytical ability
• Comfortable analysing market prices, supply-demand movements and other commercial data
• Business-level Japanese or higher
• Conversational English
• Ability to communicate effectively with both commercial and analytical stakeholders

• Useful experience

• Electricity or energy-market experience
• Commodity, derivatives or financial-market trading
• Hedging / portfolio risk management
• Electricity procurement or supply-demand management
• Experience working with market data, forecasting or quantitative analysis
