Our client, a major multinational biopharmaceutical and medical technology company, is seeking a Legal Director to provide strategic legal counsel to their Innovative Medicine Japan business. This role offers the opportunity to engage in cross-border regional activities and lead legal risk management and compliance programs, with a focus on AI-driven legal process improvements. Enjoy a high compensation package with a budget up to JPY 30M, full flex work arrangements, and a minimum of two days work-from-home each week.

Key Responsibilities:


- Provide strategic legal counsel for Innovative Medicine Japan
- Advise on healthcare regulations and commercial legal matters
- Draft and negotiate major business development agreements
- Lead legal risk management and compliance programs
- Oversee litigation and corporate governance
- Support cross-border legal decision-making

Qualifications:


- Qualified lawyer in Japan or the U.S.
- Minimum 8 years' PQE
- Fluent Japanese and English
- Experience in a multinational company is preferred but not mandatory
- Healthcare industry experience is preferred but not mandatory
- Experience with AI in legal process improvements is preferred but not mandatory
- Experience in drafting and negotiating business development agreements is preferred but not mandatory
- Strong understanding of healthcare regulations and compliance is preferred but not mandatory


- 日本または米国弁護士資格保持者
- 8年以上の実務経験
- 日本語・英語での高いコミュニケーション能力
- 多国籍企業での勤務経験歓迎
- 医療業界経験者歓迎
