Our client, a global healthcare services and products company, is seeking a Legal & Compliance Counsel for their operations in Japan. This role offers the opportunity to provide legal and compliance support to the commercial division and manufacturing site, with a focus on the medical device business. Key Responsibilities:


- Provide legal and compliance advice for medical device business
- Draft, negotiate, and review commercial and manufacturing contracts
- Manage company compliance matters and dispute resolutions
- Coordinate IP protection with corporate IP team
- Advise on legal and compliance activities to internal stakeholders
- Anticipate and prepare for legal and regulatory trends in healthcare


Qualifications:


- Must live in Japan
- Fluency in Japanese (N1 or above) and business-level English
- At least 3 years PQE in law firm or in-house
- Bengoshi or foreign-qualified )
- Experience in Medical Device/Pharma industry
- In-depth knowledge of Japanese laws, including antimonopoly laws
- Experience with contract drafting and negotiation
- Familiarity with IP protection processes
- Ability to anticipate legal and regulatory trends in healthcare

• 商業および製造契約の作成、交渉、レビュー
• 企業のコンプライアンス事項および紛争解決の管理
• 企業IPチームと協力して知的財産の保護を調整
• 社内関係者への法務およびコンプライアンス活動のアドバイス
• 医療業界における法的および規制のトレンドを予測し、準備

応募資格：
 

• 日本在住必須
• 日本語（N1以上）およびビジネスレベルの英語
• 法律事務所または企業内法務での3年以上の実務経験
• 弁護士資格（日本または外国資格）
• 医療機器・製薬業界での経験
• 日本の法律、特に独占禁止法に関する深い知識
• 契約作成および交渉の経験
• 知的財産保護プロセスへの理解
• 医療業界の法的および規制のトレンドを予測する能力
