Salary:  30,000 – 40,000THB +/- (Negotiable) 

Location:  Sathorn, Bangkok

 

Our client is a well-known Japanese food company. 


Position Overview

We are seeking a passionate R&D Staff member to join our team and lead the development of innovative processed and frozen food products for ASEAN and global markets. This role involves collaborating with Sales, Quality Assurance, Production, and both domestic and international contract manufacturers to bring new products from concept to commercialization. You will also ensure compliance with food safety regulations, labeling standards, and packaging requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Product Categories: Frozen meals, ready-to-eat dishes, noodles, sauces, seafood, meat products, snacks, and other value-added foods.

Product Development:

  • Create new products aligned with market trends and customer needs.

  • Design recipes, conduct trials, sensory evaluations, and continuous improvements.

  • Optimize formulations, processes, and specifications to meet quality, safety, cost, and productivity goals.

  • Enhance existing products for better quality, cost efficiency, and added value.

Production Launch:

  • Coordinate technical aspects with factories and contract manufacturers.

  • Scale prototypes to mass production and conduct factory trials.

  • Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and stabilize product quality.

Quality & Compliance:

  • Prepare and manage product specifications, formulations, and reports.

  • Verify nutritional and food labeling, packaging design, and regulatory conformity.

  • Ensure compliance with food safety laws and international import/export rules.

Sales & Marketing Support:

  • Provide samples and technical support to clients.

  • Participate in exhibitions, meetings, and presentations.

  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to support product proposals.

Project Management:

  • Track development progress, manage schedules, and report evaluations.

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams and promote R&D activities in Southeast Asia.

Continuous Learning:

  • Stay updated on food technology, market trends, and regulations.

  • Research new raw materials and propose innovative products.

  • Drive problem-solving and improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Food Science, Food Engineering, or a related discipline.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in product development, R&D, QA, or production technology within the food industry.

  • Background in product planning or marketing in the food sector is a plus.

  • Hands-on experience with frozen foods, ready-to-eat meals, and processed food development.

  • Proven track record in launching and commercializing new products, including overseas markets.

Technical Skills:

  • Expertise in formulation design, trial evaluations, and product improvements.

  • Knowledge of food labeling laws, food safety standards, and regulatory compliance.

  • Experience in packaging verification and nutritional labeling.

  • Ability to coordinate effectively with factories, sales teams, and QA departments.

Global Collaboration:

  • Experience working with overseas factories or contractors.

  • Ability to adapt product development to meet international customer requirements and regulations.
