Bilingual Senior BI Developer & Tech Lead

Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end delivery of cross-functional BI initiatives across Japan, US, and Europe, managing scope, timelines, dependencies, and stakeholder expectations.
• Architect and build scalable ELT/ETL pipelines using Azure Databricks (PySpark, Delta Lake), Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, and ADLS Gen2.
• Design and govern Power BI semantic models, reports, and dashboards, enforcing DAX/M standards, RLS, deployment pipelines, and UX guidelines.
• Develop Python-based automation, data quality frameworks, and transformation scripts while enforcing Git, code review, and testing best practices.
• Partner directly with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical roadmaps, drive user adoption, and align analytics to measurable business outcomes.
• Define BI development standards, testing/validation strategies, and support models to ensure platform performance, security, and compliance.

Qualifications:

• 8+ years in BI/Analytics Engineering (3+ yrs in a technical lead/senior role)
• Strong hands-on experience: Azure Databricks, Power BI (DAX, Data Modeling, Deployment Pipelines), Python, SQL
• Business-level Japanese (JLPT N3+) and English (TOEIC700+), proven ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders and technical audiences
• Solid understanding of data architecture (dimensional modeling, medallion/data vault) & cloud governance
• Bachelor’s/Master’s in Computer Science, IT, Data Analytics, or related field
• Proven ability to thrive in ambiguity, prioritize ruthlessly, and communicate clearly across technical & business audiences

Nice to Have

• Microsoft Fabric, dbt, or Azure certifications (DP-600, DP-203, AZ-900)
• Semiconductor, manufacturing, or high-tech industry analytics experience
