Legal & Compliance Counsel 法務コンプライアンスカウンセル - Healthcare (4 days WFH, Open to non-healthcare exp.)



Our client, a global healthcare services and products company, is seeking a Legal & Compliance Counsel for their Japan operations. This role offers the opportunity to provide proactive legal and compliance support to the commercial division and manufacturing site, working closely with senior legal professionals. Enjoy up to 4 days of remote work per week and the chance to work under a senior bengoshi, even if you have no prior healthcare industry experience.


Key Responsibilities:

- Provide legal and compliance support to Japan's commercial division
- Draft, negotiate, and review commercial contracts
- Ensure compliance with Japanese laws and regulations
- Coordinate with external counsels within budget
- Conduct compliance training and risk assessments
- Advise on legal trends in the healthcare industry
- Lead international or global legal projects
- Support IP protection with corporate IP team


Qualifications:

- Legal practicing certificate. Japanese or foreign qualification is acceptable.
- At least PQE 4-6 years working experience in law firm/in-house.
- Native level Japanese and business level English.
- In-depth knowledge of Japanese laws, including antimonopoly laws, company law.
- Experience in Medical Device/Pharma industry is preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience with contract drafting, negotiation, and review.
- Familiarity with FCPA, Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Act, anti-bribery laws.
