Our client, a leading Fintech service provider in Japan, is seeking an Accountant for their Finance & Accounting department in Tokyo. This role offers the opportunity to engage in monthly and annual financial reporting, audits, and tax management, while collaborating closely with the AP team. The position offers a competitive salary of 7-9 million JPY and a hybrid work setup.


Key Responsibilities:

- Perform monthly and yearly financial closings (USGAAP, JGAAP)
- Manage accounts payable and expense reimbursements
- Handle tax filings and respond to tax audits
- Improve accounting processes
- Support financial audits and SOX compliance
- Evaluate accounting and tax implications of new transactions


Qualifications:

- 3+ years in monthly/yearly closing
- Audit handling experience
- Tax filing experience
- Business-level English and Japanese
- Knowledge of commercial bookkeeping level 2 or higher
- Work permit in Japan
- Experience with USGAAP and JGAAP
- Experience with SAP, Freee, or Slack is preferred but not mandatory
- Experience in FinTech or payment industry is preferred but not mandatory
