Purpose

To ensure smooth and efficient assembly line operations by developing, implementing, and continuously improving assembly processes, tools, and methods, thereby enhancing productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.

Educational Qualification

• B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering or equivalent.

Skills Required

• Strong knowledge of assembly line processes and industrial engineering concepts.
• Team handling and leadership skills.
• Hands-on experience with assembly jigs, fixtures, tooling, and line balancing.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Kaizen, and TPM practices.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD / CATIA or similar design tools.
• Good communication and coordination skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize assembly processes to improve efficiency and quality.
• Prepare and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions for assembly operations.
• Conduct time studies, line balancing, and capacity planning for assembly lines.
• Implement cost reduction activities through process improvement and automation.
• Support new model assembly line preparation, trials, and mass production setup.
• Collaborate with production, quality, and R&D teams for process improvements and issue resolution.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards and ergonomic guidelines in assembly operations.
• Drive continuous improvement activities (Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, 5S).

Knowledge Required

• Knowledge of motorcycle/automobile assembly processes.
• Understanding of quality systems (ISO/TS standards).
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing and problem-solving tools (QC tools, Why-Why analysis, FMEA).
