Job Summary

The Assistant Production Manager will support the Production Manager in overseeing daily operations of the printing and packaging facility. This role is responsible for ensuring all production targets are met efficiently, on time, and within quality standards. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of printing and packaging processes, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, scheduling, and directing daily production activities to meet output targets and deadlines.
• Monitor production processes to ensure all products comply with established quality standards, including color accuracy, print registration, and packaging specifications.
• Supervise and mentor production staff, including machine operators and technicians. Conduct training, performance reviews, and provide guidance to enhance team skills and productivity.
• Identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement within the production line. Implement lean manufacturing principles and other best practices to optimize workflows and reduce waste.
• Coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure all machinery and equipment are running efficiently. Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and company policies to maintain a secure and compliant work environment.
• Support the management of raw materials and finished goods inventory to prevent shortages or overstock situations.
• Prepare and present production reports, including key performance indicators (KPIs) like output, quality, and efficiency.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, or Printing Technology) or a related field.
• Proven experience 5 years in a supervisory or management role within the printing, packaging, or a related manufacturing industry.
• Strong knowledge of offset, gravure, flexography, or digital printing processes is essential. Familiarity with packaging machinery, converting, and finishing equipment is a plus.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot production issues quickly and effectively.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team.
• Knowledge of quality standards like ISO, GMP, or HACCP is highly desirable.
