Senior Accountant

Job Description:
Enfinity is looking for a versatile and entrepreneurial Accountant that will provide support to the Company’s Controllership team in Europe.
The position requires the candidate to have, among others, a strong appetite for an entrepreneurial venture, solid academic track-record, basic financial knowledge, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work with tight deadlines set by a highly demanding team.

Key responsibilities:

• Interconnection (IX) Process Management:
  o Lead the end-to-end interconnection process with Japanese utilities, including application
• submission, contract negotiation, and compliance with local regulations (e.g., OCCTO requirements).
  o Engage directly with utilities, regulators, and stakeholders to resolve technical and procedural challenges.
• Design Oversight & Technical Guidance
  o Review and approve internal engineering / third-party consultants’ grid connection designs,
  drawings, and studies to ensure alignment with project goals and Japanese grid standards.
  o Define overarching architecture for IX infrastructure (e.g., substations, transmission lines).
• Interconnection Strategy Development
  o Advise on optimal grid connection points, considering capacity, cost, and curtailment risks.
  o Conduct or oversee curtailment assessments to mitigate revenue risks for PV/BESS projects.
• EPC Management for IX Infrastructure
  o Oversee detailed design, specifications, and construction of transmission lines (T-Line) and substations.
  o Manage procurement, equipment selection, and contractor performance during IX infrastructure deployment.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and timeline targets.
• Regulatory & Compliance Coordination
  o Secure permits and approvals while ensuring adherence to Japan’s grid codes, utility requirements, and energy policies.
  o Maintain up-to-date knowledge of evolving regulations and market practices.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the technical liaison between internal teams (project development, legal, finance) and external partners (consultants, EPC contractors, utilities)

• Accounts Payables follow-up.
• Lead the month-end close process, consolidation, and internal reporting activities.
• Provide guidance to the business and monitor effectiveness of the Procure-to-Pay/PO process.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies and procedures.
• Review balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring transactions are properly reported in accordance with GAAP, internal accounting policies and procedures and timely performed based on the monthly closing schedule.
• Responsible for coordination of internal and external financial audits.
• Establish and monitor the accounting control procedures.
• Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
• Supporting other elements of the monthly, quarterly and annual financial statement close process and reporting including balance sheet reconciliations and independent audit support.
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations and integrity of financial data.

Reporting

• Liase with external consultants and provide information for preparation of the different local tax
  declarations and annual accounts.
• Supervise, revise and maintain accuracy for all tax-related presentations and tax-related matters for subsidiaries under his/her responsibility.
• Maintaining reconciliations between US GAAP and local GAAP accounts.

• Degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance or Business Administration.
• Solid Knowledge of USA GAAP or IFRS
• Good understanding of accounting for fixed assets, derivatives, deferred loan issuance costs and
  leases.
• Excellent spoken and written Japanese and English.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Well-organized and deadline-driven.
• Able to work with high number of legal entities at the same time.
• Proficiency in Excel.
• Previous experience working on Netsuite or similiar accounting platform is a plus.
