Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Cloud Engineer to join the IT Operations Management team of a leading life insurance company in Japan.

In this role, you will help manage, maintain, and improve AWS cloud infrastructure supporting important insurance business systems. You will work on infrastructure design, implementation, automation, system monitoring, and troubleshooting to ensure systems remain stable, secure, and efficient.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, operate, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure.

• Manage AWS services including EC2, VPC, subnets, RDS, S3, and load balancers.

• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.

• Support container-based and serverless environments using technologies such as Docker, ECS/EKS, Fargate, Lambda, and API Gateway.

• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to improve deployment efficiency.

• Monitor system performance, investigate technical issues, and resolve production incidents.

• Perform troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and performance optimization.

• Improve infrastructure reliability, security, scalability, and operational efficiency.

• Collaborate with application teams, internal stakeholders, and global technology teams to support business requirements.

• Contribute to continuous improvement and cloud infrastructure modernization initiatives.

Required Skills and Experience

• 2–3+ years of hands-on experience in AWS infrastructure design, implementation, and operations.

• Practical experience with core AWS services such as EC2, VPC, RDS, S3, and load balancing.

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.

• Understanding of networking, cloud security, system monitoring, and troubleshooting.

• Experience with CI/CD, automation, and production support.

• Knowledge of container technologies, serverless services, and cloud architecture is an advantage.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively.

• Business-level communication skills in Japanese and English to collaborate with local and international teams.

• Experience in life insurance systems or insurance business operations is required.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with Docker, ECS/EKS, Fargate, Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, or EventBridge.

• Experience improving cloud operations through automation and DevOps practices.

• Experience working with global technology teams or in a regulated financial services environment.
