Cisco ACI Data Center Network Engineer

About the role

Our client is hiring an experienced Data Center Network Engineer to implement and support enterprise data center network environments. This hands-on role focuses on Cisco ACI and Nexus, with work across fabric deployment, network troubleshooting, migrations, upgrades, and day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Cisco ACI fabric environments.
• Configure and support Cisco Nexus data center switches.
• Troubleshoot Layer 2 and Layer 3 connectivity, performance, and availability issues.
• Work with VXLAN, BGP EVPN, and data center switching technologies.
• Support network implementations, upgrades, migrations, and ongoing operations.
• Contribute to network design and prepare High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documents.
• Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and other technical teams.
• Contribute to network automation and operational improvements where applicable.

Required qualifications

• Hands-on experience configuring, implementing, and troubleshooting Cisco ACI.
• Practical experience with Cisco Nexus switches, particularly the 2K, 3K, 5K, 7K, or 9K series.
• Strong understanding of VXLAN, BGP EVPN, data center switching, and Layer 2/Layer 3 networking.
• Experience supporting and troubleshooting enterprise data center networks.
• Business-level English communication skills.
• Currently residing in Japan or holding valid Japanese work authorization.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience deploying Cisco ACI fabrics.
• Experience with data center network design, migrations, or infrastructure upgrades.
• Experience preparing HLD and LLD documentation.
• Network automation experience using Python, Ansible, or APIs.
• Experience with Ixia or Spirent network testing tools.
• Experience in enterprise data centers or telecommunications.
• Cisco certifications such as CCNP Enterprise, CCNP Data Center, CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure, or CCIE Data Center.
