Job Description
COMPANY OVERVIEW
A Japanese chemical manufacturing company in Berlin is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant (m/f/d) to join a three-person accounting team.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Ensure compliance with German GAAP (HGB) and support reporting under international accounting standards (IFRS preferred)
Manage general ledger, reconciliations, and closing activities
Coordinate and support external audits and statutory reporting
Work closely with internal stakeholders and the headquarters team
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 5 years of accounting experience
Strong knowledge of HGB and international accounting standards
Hands-on experience with DATEV
Proven experience supporting external audits
Fluent German and English (written and spoken)
Japanese language skills are an advantage
