Its purpose is to enable Japanese and Asian patients to join global development programs early. It does this through bridging and ethnic-factor strategies, model-informed drug development and well-designed clinical pharmacology studies. The aim is for regional approvals to follow global timelines rather than lag behind them.

•    Represent clinical pharmacology on clinical study and development teams, working closely with research, nonclinical and other functions

Functional Leadership

•    Mentor and develop clinical pharmacologists

•    Establish and continuously improve regional SOPs, tools and training, aligned with global processes

•    Plan resource allocation and study numbers; support functional budget planning and control

•    Build networks with global counterparts and external PK/clinical pharmacology specialists

•    Support publications and conference presentations

Requirements

Required

•    Master’s degree or higher

•    7+ years of clinical research and development experience, including 3+ years in clinical pharmacology

•    Experience contributing to global drug development (e.g., multinational clinical trials)

•    Working knowledge of GCP, related guidelines, NDA requirements and medical terminology

•    Basic daily conversational skills in English are sufficient.

•    Japanese: native or business level fluency

Preferred

•    Experience authoring clinical pharmacology sections of IBs and CTDs

•    Experience with health authority consultations and queries (e.g., PMDA)

•    Experience proposing and explaining clinical pharmacology strategy to global teams

What Will Help You Succeed
