English Speaking 14M JPY Tech AI Product Manager

You will lead the development of advanced AI voice capabilities, including call automation, Answering Machine Detection (AMD), and real-time conversational experiences. You will work closely with an English-first global engineering team and collaborate across Product, Engineering, Design, Customer Success, and Sales to deliver AI-powered voice solutions for enterprise customers.

What You'll Do

• Drive key initiatives for Mico Voice AI, including call functionality improvements, AMD, and automation features.
• Own the product lifecycle from problem discovery and feature planning through requirements definition, specification writing, development, and release.
• Translate enterprise customer needs into scalable product capabilities rather than one-off solutions.
• Work with global engineering teams in English to define technical specifications, assess feasibility, and prioritize roadmap initiatives.
• Create product requirement documents (PRDs) and detailed specifications; manage the product backlog and sprint execution.
• Prioritize investments by balancing customer impact, engineering feasibility, cost, and strategic value.
• Analyze conversation quality and identify opportunities to improve AI voice interactions.
• Improve real-time voice experiences by considering latency, turn-taking, barge-in handling, silence detection, and conversational flow.
• Evaluate build-versus-buy options for external vendors and internal development.
• Align product strategy with business objectives in partnership with Engineering, Design, QA, Sales, and Customer Success.

Required Qualifications

• At least 3 years of Product Management and/or Project Management experience.
• Experience developing or managing products in at least one of these areas: Generative AI, Voice AI, IVR, or chatbots (including text-based web chatbots).
• A solid understanding of the fundamentals and practical limitations of relevant AI technologies.
• Ability to discuss technical specifications and implementation feasibility with engineers.
• Business-level English proficiency.

Preferred Qualifications

• Business-level Japanese communication skills and experience engaging with customers in Japanese.
• Experience developing Generative AI, Voice AI, IVR, or voicebot products.
• Knowledge of telephony systems, including SIP, carrier infrastructure, call routing, transfer protocols, and voicemail detection.
• Practical understanding of voice UX principles, including latency, endpoint detection, barge-in behavior, silence thresholds, and turn-taking.
• Experience with AI quality assurance and evaluation, such as conversation test design, hallucination measurement, or evaluation criteria.
• Experience in contact centers or BPO operations, with an understanding of high-volume calling workflows and automation opportunities.
• Knowledge of the Japanese enterprise SaaS market, particularly HR, insurance, or customer support.
• Experience investigating system behavior and conducting initial troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
